An Overview Of AVR-S760H

The AVR-S760H is a budget amplifier manufactured and developed by the reputable brand Costco. It is upgraded from the previous version Avr-s750h with more advanced features and better performance.

The AVR-S760H may be one of the best receivers in the price range ever made, and you will know the reasons soon.

Highlight Features Of AVR-S760H

After a few weeks of usage and testing the AVR-S760H for various types of audio, I have come up with these cool features of the amplifier that make it stand out from the other products.

Build Quality

You get all the needed accessories in the box like the control remote, radio antennas, and connecting cables. There’s a special tripod made completely from cardboard.

With up to 9 pounds (8.5 kilograms) in weight, the AVR-S760H possesses a large and impressive design. It has built-in ventilation on top of the device.

Although the main material is plastic, the brushed surface and clean cut of this receiver look similar to any high-quality aluminum case, and the huge digital display on the front adds up to its modern and high-end appearance.

Connection

Overall Design

There are up to seven pairs of binding inputs on the back of the receiver to pair it with the other speakers and audio devices. It also features a phono preamp and some analog stereo inputs, making it compatible with various devices.

You can also find an ethernet network input and, most importantly, the indispensable HDMI ports ( six HDMI in and one HDMI out). It is surprising that the receiver supports the high-end HDMI 2.1 at this price range.

The HDMI 2.1 port allows the device to receive 8K and 120 Hz signals. I tried connecting it with the PS5 gaming consoles, and they work perfectly with each other.

But the highest refresh rate I received is only 60 Hz, which is quite frustrating. After enabling the 8K enhanced mode on the receiver settings, the 4K signals at 120 Hz have successfully passed through.

Special Features

The Back Of The Receiver

The receiver is compatible with devices and applications like Apple Homepod, Google Home, and Amazon Echo. It also supports modern features such as the Dolby Vision, video frame HDR10, and HLG.

The AVR-S760H features the auto room correction function to make the sound best fit your room setup. But you should try disabling this function to see if the original default audio sounds better.

Performance

AVR-S760H Review

The receiver includes the 7.2 channels with up to 75 Watts, delivering a robust and amazing audio quality. There’s no need for tuning as the audio of AVR-S760H is very excellent with smooth and clean sounds.

I’m quite surprised that the device has a sufficient power supply to drive the large and heavy main speakers. It gives me a smooth and satisfying experience when watching movies or listening to music.

There’s virtually no distortion or interruption because the receiver barely runs out of power at normal volumes. However, the device will struggle a bit when it comes to higher volumes and listening frequencies because of its low sensitivity.

Overall, the receiver delivers consistent and brilliant audio quality at all the sound frequencies (low, mid-midrange, and travel).

Final Thoughts

If you are looking for the basic features and decent sound quality in a budget receiver, the AVR-S760H is a great option. The addition of the 4K and 8K support brings you the best value money for an entry-level receiver.

This receiver works great by using robust speakers and high-end home theater systems. I hope this in-depth AVR-S760H review can satisfy you. Thank you for reading!
